St James, Stonehaven: How to find us

St James Church is located at the end of Arbuthnott Street, Stonehaven. It can be approached on foot from the Market Square in Stonehaven by following Barclay Street to the south until it terminates at its junction with Cameron Street. Turn right along Cameron Street and after a short distance cross a footbridge on the left over the river with the church directly ahead.

Approaching from the North by car

On the A90 from Aberdeen and Portlethen, take the first signposted turn (B979) into Stonehaven, following the road past the golf course and caravan site to a small roundabout. Take the first exit from the roundabout and continue ahead on the road known successively as David Street / Allardice Street / Bridgefield. Go straight on at the traffic lights beside the Market Square, then take the second turn on the right (just after the river bridge) into the narrow Arbuthnott Street with the Church at the far end.

Approaching from the South by car

On the A90 from Dundee and Brechin, take the first signposted turn into Stonehaven, following signs for the town centre onto the A92 then the A957 as it winds down into the town. Follow the main road along Dunnottar Avenue, passing the petrol station on the left. Continue around a sharp left bend outside the police station, then take the second left into the narrow Arbuthnott Street with the Church at the far end
